3-Chip LCD Technology

• A light source projects white light onto a combination of mirrors that split the light into its three basic video colors.
• Each LCD chip takes the electrical signal it receives and creates an image.
• The three color images are combined using a prism to form a full-color image consisting of millions of colors.
• The vibrant, full-color image passes through a lens and is projected onto a screen.

DMD CHIPS (Digital Micromirror Device) PROJECTOR

Pada dasarnya technologi DLP Projector terbuat dari bahan semi konduktor yang disebut dengan DMD CHIPS (Digital Micromirror Device) yang di temukan oleh Texas Instruments tahun 1987.

Prinsip kerja dari DMD Chips adalah terbuat dari kaca kecil-kecil dengan sudut 10 derajat. kaca kecil-kecil ini seluruhnya saling berhubungan dan digunakan untuk kontak langsung terhadap lampu projector serta runga jarak pixel yang saling berjauhan. jarak waktu pixel dalam keadaan mati/hidup ditentukan oleh tingkatan warna abu-abu yang terlihat pada pixel tersebut. secara keseluruhan dalam keadaan hidup bersinar (putih) dan keadaan mati gelap (hitam), sekalipun antara hitam dan putih sangat berdekatan. arus listrik DMD Chips dapat menghasilkan tempat sekitar1024 warna abu-abu. Walaupun begitu penambahan warna masih bisa dilakukan.

Pada DMD Chips penambahan warna menggunakan Colour Wheel, perputaran colour wheel pada poros mencapai 150x perdetik sampai 250x perdetik atau lebih. kebanyakan colour wheel terdiri dari 4 segment warna atau lebih segment warna tersebut adalah, merah, biru, hijau dan segment bening. Ketika cahaya lampu melewati 4 segment warna dari colour wheel, maka akan menghasilkan effek warna yang dikenal dengan Rainbow
